Rosie joined the Temecula Public Cemetery’s Board of Directors in 2011. She was born in Whittier, California and has lived in Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Connecticut and California.

She’s lived in Temecula since 1971. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has enjoyed a long career serving our community through the public library. Currently, she is the manager of the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library, the busiest library in Riverside County.

Rosie has three grown children: Michelle Vanderhaak Nelson, Lori Vanderhaak Hupp and Peter Vanderhaak. She has eight grandchildren: Brandon, Meghan , Sarah , Andrew, Jessica, Leif, Delilah and  Fintan.

Rosie served nine years as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Temecula Valley Unified School District. She served on the Blue Ribbon Committee for the City of Temecula developing the Quality of Life Master Plan for Temecula. She also serves on the Temecula-Murrieta Interagency Council with the Temecula Valley Unified School District. Besides her community involvement, she enjoys gardening, traveling, reading and walking with her two Golden Retriever Dogs.

Rosie is excited to have the opportunity to serve the community through the cemetery district. She is currently heading a committee to develop a five year plan to renovate the Temecula Public Cemetery on C Street. She is also looking forward to being involved with the development of the new cemetery site to meet future needs of the community.
